Puffiness of Eyes

Good morning...
Here is how to deal with the puffiness of the eyes:
  • Place chilled cucumber slices or damp tea bags over eyes for about 20 minutes.
  • Place a bag of frozen vegetables in a thin cloth over closed eyes for 10-15 minutes and keep your head upright.
  • Tie some potato grates in a cloth and place over eyes for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Place damp tea bags over eyes for about 20 minutes. Chamomile tea is better because it has anti-inflammatory properties that will help reduce the puff.
  • Apply vitamin E or olive oil.

Good morning...
Although there are many hair products out there which claim that they can repair your split ends, the only way to effectively get rid of them is to trim your hair regularly. Luckily, there are a number of things that you can do to control a problem with split ends once it has occurred:
  • Split ends cannot be mended; the only long-term cure is to have them snipped off. What is lost in the length will be gained in quality.
  • It may help if you reduce the frequency with which you shampoo, as this in itself is stressful to hair and causes split ends to extend up the hair shaft.
  • Never use a dryer too near the hair, or set it on too high a temperature.
  • Minimize the use of heated appliances.
  • Try conditioners and serums that are designed to seal split ends temporarily and give resistance to further splitting.

Lose more weight....

Good morning...Lose more weight...
Reduce Coca-cola, Fanta or Pepsi.
If you are a big soda drinker, then change out one soda per day for water with a slice of lemon, or just plain. You will save yourself sugar calories, and feel more hydrated, which will make you feel better. Rather than saying “Today I will stop drinking soda forever”,which will send you into a panic attack, start with ONE soda. You can do it! One does make a difference!.

A easy way to lose weight.

Eat Your Food Slowly!

It is a common habit to eat food extremely fast when we are hungry to satisfy our stomachs. Most people devour their food so quickly they barely remember any of the eating experience! The disadvantage here is that the stomach gets filled so quickly that people feel unsatisfied and want more food. By eating slowly you will assist digestion and allow your body to realize when you actually are full as appose to eating past this stage.

Skin care for oily skin

If you have over active glands, chances are you will have oily skin. When skin produces too much sebum, the skin pores gets clogged and thus contribute to several skin problems. The best way to tackle oily skin is to eat food enriched with sources of Vitamin B2. This would include whole grains, wheat grams, nuts and beans.
There is a common myth that oily skin does not require hydration. This is not right as it is extremely important that skin should remain hydrated. Though it might sound unconventional, a good moisturizer can help you in keeping your skin hydrated. This is because if your skin suffers from dehydration, this would only contribute to added skin problems.

Hair Growth

Our hair grows approximately a quarter of a centimetre each month (faster in warm weather). On average, a healthy person loses between 75 to 100 hairs a day. Each hair strand is 97% protein and 3% moisture. The only living part of the hair is the root or bulb, which is invisible – unless you pull it out.
Each hair has a life cycle of one to seven years and falls out to make room for new hair, and the cycle starts again. So periodically you will see a lot of hair on your brush or in the sink. Do not freak out! It is a normal process.
If you see thinning spots on your scalp or notice a dramatic change in the amount of hair loss ,here are some guidelines to help you treat your hair:
-Steam your hair in a warm cap or hair salon steamer for a few minutes with deep conditioning treatments to open the hair cuticle. Then use a conditioner for your hair type.
-Use a volumizing shampoo.
-African hair tends to be dry, so you need to moisturize it to keep it from becoming brittle.
-Eat a balanced or recommended daily portion of protein.
-Eat sulfur-rich foods like beans, milk, dairy products, fish and eggs.
-Avoid excess sugar and caffeine.

Pointers for foundation

-Make sure you get the right cosmetic foundations for your skin type - choose an oil-based foundation for dry skin, water-based foundation for normal skin, and “oil-free” foundation for oily skin.
- Apply moisturizer 5 to 10 minutes before beginning your face powders application.
- Choose foundations that look natural (closely matches your skin tone) and fits the desired effect you are seeking.
- Foundation should be applied to the skin first, before any other make up product.

Loose Powder

Good morning ladies...Here are facts on loose powder..

Loose powder adds the finishing touch to your foundation and keeps you looking fresh through out the day. It can be used on its own to look natural. Be careful not to use too much powder, especially around the eyes where the excess powder can settle into the fine lines.

Powder based foundations have the function of combining both foundation and powder in one product. It ‘sets’ your foundation to make it last, it adds a matte finish to the skin that looks fresh, makes the skin seem finer by making the pores seem smaller.

Good morning ladies.. Foundation facts for you...

Pressed foundations give a smooth, matte finish to the skin that helps control shine. It can be applied with either a damp or dry sponge. At first, it takes practice to use the right amount of powder.
This type of foundation works for all skin types and is easy to carry around since it’s not as messy as loose powder. This makes it quick and handy for touch ups. It is available in more shades than loose powder.
When choosing a shade, get one as close to your foundation color as you can and use lightly since it tends to accumulate on your skin during touch ups.

Blush Glory

Good morning ladies...Here are some blush tips for you...

-First choose the colour using nature as your guide. Fair skin looks great in rose, olive in peach & dark skin in apricot or even red.
-Now that you have the colour, choose the right formula for your skin type. Powder is typically best for oily & combo skin. Cream is great for dry skin. Liquid and gel are great for oily skin.
-Apply foundation, eye colour & lipstick. While blush is usually your 2nd-to-last makeup step (before powder), you should experiment with what works best for you.
-Use a professional full brush, but don’t use the same brush you use for your powder.
-Put the blush on your brush, tapping off any excess or put a dab of gel on your fingers.
-Look into the mirror and smile. This helps you figure out where the ‘apple’ of your cheek is.
-Since you want a healthy flush, it’s best to apply blush only to apples of your cheeks.
-If you’ve gone a bit too heavy on the powder blush, a bit of translucent powder over it will calm it down. For cream blush, blot the colour off with a tissue. Since gel & liquid blush ‘stain’ the cheeks, the only way to lighten them is it wash your face, moisturize and reapply your makeup, this time more sparingly.
-Finish your look with a sweep of translucent powder.

Braids and Curls.

Braids styles are stunning and timeless, beautiful and undeniably fit for the African princess. There are many braided hairstyles for you to choose from. The best thing about braids is the minimal maintenance. All you have to do is spray oil sheen on the braids every few days and warp your head with a scarf at night. Braids are great because they allow your natural hair to rest and protect your hair from exposure to the elements.
This style is a sensational one of open-ended braids that can be worn down or with an up do. When choosing an up do, try to select a style that best suits your facial shape.

Good morning ladies...Its all about cornrows today..
Combine your stylish cornrows with the right kind of day or night outfit. You are bound to hiss and cause a flutter wherever you go.
You can choose this style by adding synthetic hair extension to create longer cornrow styles. To enjoy this look of cornrows, you can opt to simply cornrow only the front to the middle of the head (famously known as Kilimanjaro style), while leaving the remaining hair un-plaited. This style goes for any shape of the face.
Once complete, you can wear your style in a variety of styles for a beautiful night with an up do or day look.

Wednesday, November 23, 2011

Good morning ladies...Here is some hair advice for you.
Whether your hair is thick and sleek or a tenderly pouf, a soft braid extension can be fun as well as saves you time to the hair salon or time in styling your hair when getting ready for work. If you want extensions that look natural, go for the length, texture and colour that match your own hair and style. If not, anything goes!

Body odours

Good morning....
Ladies whether you are married or single it is necessary to smell good all the time. Here are a few tips on controlling body odors that will pave a way for general beauty:
-For strong body odors a warm water bath with soap twice to three times a day will do.Concentrate on the smelliest parts such as under arms and other private parts.
-Wash your armpits before and after sweat. This mostly goes for people who do manual jobs.
-Remove hair from your armpits in order to protect them and free them from bad smell.
-Avoid spraying perfumes under your armpits during dry seasons because they can produce a bad smell after sweat.
-Wear sleeveless clothes mostly during hot seasons to allow air to pass through your armpits.
-You can use powder under your armpits in order to avoid endless sweating.

Good morning are some hair tips for your hair....
-If your hair is in a really terrible condition start taking some good multi vitamin for a month or two. Shear Hair & Beauty recommends the 21st Century Hair, Skin and Nails dietary supplement available at JD pharmacy.
- Maintain a healthy diet, increase the intake of fresh fruits and green vegetables, drink plenty of water and avoid short spicy or junk foods.
- Some spices are good for promoting healthy looking hair; these include turmeric, black pepper and cumin. Start using these spices in your daily nutritional intake but just be careful because an excess may be harmful for the rest of your body.
- Avoid stress, because stress or anxiety may lead to hair loss.
- Always use a shampoo and conditioner according to your hair type.
- Avoid sleeping in hair accessories such as barrettes, scrunches, head bands, etc. This can lead to hair damage. Use a sleeping cap made of soft fabric and wrap your hair at night, so it stays smooth and silky the whole time.

Threading eyebrows

This is becoming the method of choice for many over waxing, and just downright thin or sensitive skin. Threading uses a string to remove hair.
-Less contact with the skin:
Threading has little to no contact with the skin. Waxing, however tugs at skin when the hair is removed, and can really irritate sensitive skin making it turn pink to extremely red.
-Stop seeing red:The skin mostly gets red because of the wax tugging at the skin, not the actual removal of the hair. If you do get pink from threading, it usually goes away within the hour.
-Skin delicacy:The skin around the eyes is thin, and can get easily irritated from waxing even if it doesn’t bother other body zones. Threading eyebrows is a true life saver for hair removal in the eye area.
-No contradictions:Threading eyebrows doesn’t remove the top layer of skin like waxing. So even people that use Re tin-A or take other medications that conflict with waxing, can still get threading.
-Burn-free method:Most waxes are used warm, but can be heated up too much and burn the skin resulting in extreme pain and scabby skin. There’s no chance of getting scorched with threading.
-No one’s allergic to string:Sometimes having an allergic reaction is mistaken as sensitivity. Waxes are often based on a certain ingredient like: lavender, tea tree, chocolate and the
list goes on and on. With this method, there’s no need to worry.

A regular trim to keep it healthy.

Hair length is perceived as the best way women can look pretty most especially by men. And this has been among the excuses why women keep long hair with the same belief.
Yet, we all know that the longer the hair is, the longer it’s been exposed to the tortures we put our hair through every day. Sun, wind, blow-drying, pony-tail holders, harsh shampoos, smog, pillows, and even poor diet can all take their toll on hair. In order to keep your hair looking healthy, even if it’s long, you must keep it trimmed.
On average, hair grows at a rate of about one-half inch (1.25cm) per month, and typically the hair should be trimmed every 8 weeks. This means, between cuts, the hair should have grown about an inch (2.5cm).
If you are trying to grow your hair longer, this means you can lose the least healthy half-inch of hair with each trim and still gain 3 inches each year. It may seem like slow progress, but you’ll be happier with the results in the end.
The end result will be a smoother, healthier-looking hair, with no loss of length or potential change in the style.

Good morning ladies here is a fact of the day!
Experts have long known that drinking grapefruit juice while on some medication can cause your body to absorb too much of the drugs. But a new study suggests you shouldn’t wash down pills with orange, apple, or other juices either; they prevent your body from absorbing enough medication, says lead researcher David G. Bailey, PhD, of the University of Western Ontario. Water is safest.

Good morning ladies...Here are tips on how to get beautiful nails.
Maintaining your nails by using naturally available products is something that’s easy to do at home. Ingredients such as orange juice, lemon, sugar, honey and beeswax are easily available and are great for your nails.
- Use lemon juice to remove the yellow color from the nails. Lemon lightens up the nails giving them a whiter look.... Apply lemon juice evenly on the nails, several times in a day when you notice the color has turned yellow.
-Use orange juice and sugar to help promote the growth of the nails, strengthen it and promote cuticle growth. Soak your nails in a mixture of orange juice and sugar for ten to fifteen minutes at least two times in a week.
-Apply honey and beeswax to the nails to moisturize and protect them naturally.

Morning are facts on Cellulite forming clothes. Underwear and pants that are too tight around the thighs can limit blood flow to the area, causing cellulites to potentially occur. Your best bet is to wear underwear that fits snug but doesn’t cut you or leave an indentation on your legs, stomach or buttocks when it’s removed.

Henna can be used beneficially as a treatment for falling of hair and other hair problems such as dandruff, premature greying and hair loss or patchy baldness. Mustard oil boiled with henna leaves promotes healthy growth of hair. The paste of henna leaves boiled in coconut oil to get darkish oil, can be used as a hair dye to blacken grey hair. The paste itself can be applied to the hair and washed off after a few hours to dye the grey hair.

Besides coloring the hair, it is a very good conditioner. Compared to other hair dye products, henna protects your hair and also adds beauty, body and bounce to the hair, leaving it supple, shiny and easy to manage.

Henna is also a good cleanser and does not destroy the acidic nature of the scalp. Its paste mixed with lemon juice, egg and yoghurt, is one of the best methods of cleaning and conditioning the hair. It also promotes hair growth and a healthy scalp and acts as an anti-dandruff agent.
